We are seeking an experienced Weekend Model Maker responsible for assembling models, preparing parts and assemblies in line with our Aerodynamic program, and supporting the development of our F1 race car. The role involves liaising with Modelmakers, Model Design, Mechanical Design, Aerodynamicists, and the Additive Manufacturing team to provide parts for wind tunnel testing. The work will be based at our wind tunnel facility in Bedford, working alongside the model shop team and under the guidance of the duty Aerodynamicist. The role also requires working on shift patterns to meet the demanding needs of our F1 program.
Model Making Responsibilities
* Collaborate with the model shop staff and Aero department to develop wind tunnel models and testing programs.
* Investigate new technologies and concepts for parts and procedures.
* Create and maintain a positive, cohesive work environment to promote growth and progression.
* Communicate effectively with external groups to ensure timely testing of high-quality parts.
* Execute daily tasks with a proactive attitude and attention to detail.
* Manage timelines to ensure the timely delivery of models and parts for testing.

Experience and Skills
* Previous automotive or engineering experience, ideally within F1, is preferred.
* Strong understanding of high-quality part manufacture and model assembly, including mechanical systems.
* Flexibility to work weekends, shifts, and adapt to project schedules.
* Ability to scope tasks thoroughly with minimal assistance and work effectively under pressure.
* Proactive attitude, timely communication, and professionalism in collaboration.
* Availability to work at our Bedford wind tunnel facility.
