About the role
We are looking for a Veterinary Surgeon to join our Hyde team. As one of the top employers in the UK, we offer candidates an excellent package with the opportunity to enjoy a superb work/life balance. This is a part-time role up to 32 hours per week, with a share of Saturday mornings, and time given back in lieu. We offer no out-of-hours work and a competitive salary.
Duties include providing high‑quality clinical care to all pets, delivering an outstanding client experience, and helping to create and maintain an efficient clinic.
About Us
At White Cross Vets, we have 23 clinics across the UK. All of our clinics have teams with different interests, and team members undergo further training through certificates. Being part of something bigger offers fantastic support on a broader group level and allows us to grow and develop higher‑quality first‑opinion pet care, whilst providing internal career progression opportunities. At the Hyde surgery itself, we have a large six‑vet team with a variety of interests so we can be flexible and tailor a suitable role for the right candidate.
Skill Development & Collaboration
White Cross Vets encourages growth and offers certificate support. The experienced team at Hyde includes a medical certificate holder, a vet working towards an ophthalmology certificate and a diplomat in anaesthesia. We tackle all aspects of soft‑tissue surgery ourselves and have visiting veterinary surgeons for orthopaedic surgeries and advanced diagnostic imaging.
The Hyde practice links closely with our Walkden and Sale clinics. With the Clinic Director at Hyde also directing those sites, we can offer comprehensive services and immediate support from other local White Cross clinics. The Hyde practice facilities include four consult rooms, a cat ward, a dog ward, an operating theatre, digital X‑ray, dental X‑ray, ultrasound and access to endoscopy.
Team & Culture
One of the best parts of working at Hyde is the enthusiastic team who work closely together. We bond over our shared love of food with regular meals out, participate in pub quizzes, “Breakout” rooms, 10k training runs and a weekly Fitbit challenge.
