Cyber Security Engineer – Risk & AssuranceChristchurch (Fully onsite)12-Month Contract - strong potential for extension£81.90 per hour (Umbrella, Inside IR35), 37 hours per weekMust hold active SC clearance and be eligible and willing to undergo Developed VettingCandidates must also be SOLE BRITISH NATIONALS due to security restrictionsThe OpportunityAn exciting opportunity has arisen for a Cyber Security Engineer – Risk & Assurance to support a major UK defence programme delivering complex, high-classification systems.This role sits at the intersection of security architecture and cyber assurance, offering the chance to work across the full lifecycle of secure systems within a highly regulated environment.You'll collaborate with engineers, architects, and stakeholders to shape secure designs, manage cyber risk, and support accreditation activities.What You'll Be DoingSupporting projects to understand and manage cyber security riskContributing to secure system design and security architectureDefining and implementing security controlsProducing technical security documentation and artefacts (e.g. RMADS)Supporting assurance and accreditation activities within the defence domainWorking closely with engineering teams and customer stakeholdersEnsuring alignment with frameworks such as NIST RMF / CSFWhat We're Looking ForExperience in cyber security engineering, architecture, or assuranceStrong knowledge of JSP440, NCSC guidance, or Secure by Design (SbD)Experience with risk assessment, accreditation, and security controlsFamiliarity with NIST frameworksBackground in defence, government, or secure environmentsAbility to produce clear, concise technical documentationTPBN1_UKTJ
