Job Summary
L.R.L Education Ltd is seeking a committed and experienced Tutor to deliver high-quality 1:1 tuition to learners in the Wigan area. This role is central to our growing tuition provision, providing personalised education that supports vulnerable and disengaged young people to thrive both academically and personally.
The successful candidate will work closely with learners, families, schools, and external partners to ensure positive outcomes, while upholding the highest standards of safeguarding and inclusive practice.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver tailored 1:1 tuition to students, including those with SEND, in the home, community settings, and/or our tuition hub.
* Plan, deliver, and review individualised learning programmes with a strong focus on English and Maths at KS3 and KS4.
* Provide line management and guidance to Teaching Assistants, supporting their professional development.
* Monitor and record student progress, identifying barriers to learning and implementing timely interventions.
* Work collaboratively with families, schools, and external agencies to secure the best outcomes for learners.
* Embed robust safeguarding, equality, diversity, and behaviour management practices in all areas of delivery.
* Contribute to curriculum planning and enrichment activities that reflect learners' needs, abilities, and interests.
* Report regularly to L.R.L Education leadership on learner progress, staff performance, and provision effectiveness.
* Support the ongoing development of L.R.L Education's policies and practices.
Person Specification
* Essential: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
* Essential: GCSE English and Maths (Grade C/4 or above).
* Desirable: A Level in English and/or Maths.
* Proven experience of working with vulnerable or at-risk learners, ideally in an alternative provision or tuition setting.
* Demonstrable leadership skills with experience of managing or mentoring staff.
* Strong knowledge of safeguarding responsibilities and statutory guidance.
* Excellent organisational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
* Proactive, solution-focused approach and ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
* Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain one).
