Senior Court Custody Manager - Grampian (Aberdeen, Peterhead, & Forfar)

Permanent contracts on 42 hours per week. Annual Salary £38,395

Who is GEOAmey?

GEOAmey is a 50:50 joint venture company from GEO inc based in the United States, one of the world’s largest correctional services provider and Amey, one of the largest infrastructure and consulting companies in the UK. GEOAmey provide all court custody and escorting services in England, Wales and Scotland between prisons, police stations and courts. In Scotland we also supervise all visits outside of the prison system including hospital appointments.

We have 150 vehicles; 8 vehicle bases and have officers employed across 50 court locations across Scotland. You will be trained to ensure that all prisoners, regardless of any allegations or convictions, are dealt with consistently, fairly and in line with well-developed rules and regulations.You’ll have a position of trust and responsibility, and you’ll need to remain calm under pressure and adapt to changing situations. You’ll be joining our fantastic officer community of over 2,000 officers across the UK, 670 of which are in Scotland all of which provide a vital public service across the communities in which we live.

Main Purpose:

Responsible for the profitable delivery of a devolved profit and loss account, within service and contract requirements, to deliver overall profitability and service for the relevant Court cluster and for GEOAmey.

Key Responsibilities:
* Manage the overall operation of your Court cluster to meet profit targets within the devolved P&L account.
* Understand key profit drivers, and direct all efforts to ensuring a profitable return from the Court cluster.
* Understand the operation, the planning process and all other business system processes and ensure consistent application of GEOAmey SOP’s across the Area.
* Achieve service standards as stipulated in the contract.
* Develop excellent understanding of the contract to ensure best value for GEOAmey.
* Manage, motivate and lead GEOAmey employees to maximise their performance and productivity.
* Ensure all employees working in your area of responsibility are fully aware of company policies, procedures and contractual requirements.
* Work as part of the Regional team towards the achievement of the Region and GEOAmey’s objectives.
* Develop and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders including Court employees, Prison staff and Governors in order to influence them positively towards supporting GEOAmey’s objectives.

* Lead on performance and contract management of cluster.
* Encourage team to constantly strive for higher standards.
* Manage the operational team within the cluster to deliver the contract expectations, contract KPI’s and overall performance objectives.
* Gives specific feedback to help improve performance, and works hard through honest conversations to improve areas of under performance
* Sets high personal standards by example.
* Ensures procedures are carried out in an accurately and timely way.
Leading Change:
* Clearly communicate business challenges to employees, helping them understand how they can contribute to the success of GEOAmey.
Health, Safety & Compliance:
* Ensure compliance with Health and Safety policies and procedures within the cluster.
* Monitor service delivery to safeguard the health and safety of employees, those in our care, and other agencies.
* Promote a strong safety culture, ensuring employees are always aware of their personal safety.
* Implement policies related to Health and Safety.
* Demonstrate knowledge of risk assessments and ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
* Provide accurate and timely business information as required.
* Drive continuous improvement to meet targets while ensuring profitability.
* Reinforce compliance standards and safety practices across the team.
Essential Requirements:
* Proven experience in people management within a unionised environment.
* Ability to operate effectively across multiple sites.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
* In-depth knowledge of Health and Safety legislation.
* Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
* Strong influencing and persuading skills.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Knowledge of risk assessment techniques.
* Valid Driving Licence.
* Computer literacy.
* Self-motivated, driven, and tenacious.
* Confidence to challenge the status quo and support the achievement of business objectives.
Desirable:
* Experience working in a secure environment, with an understanding of judicial systems and the criminal justice system.
* Operational and/or logistics experience in a private sector environment.

Vetting
