Position
Part‑time Research Assistant – Laboratory based project on the geoarchaeology of the Neanderthal "Flower Burials" at Shanidar Cave, Iraq.
Contract
Six‑month contract.
Responsibilities
* Analyse sediments – sediment granulometry, geochemistry.
* Record and enter laboratory results; data entry and interpretation.
* Assist in drafting internal reports and manuscripts for publication.
* Communicate with Professor Hunt and the wider Shanidar Project team.
* Participate in day‑to‑day running of the research project.
Qualifications & Requirements
Good Honours Degree in Geography, Geology, Anthropology, Archaeology, Forensic Science, Environmental Science or a similar subject.
Enthusiastic and highly organised; expected to participate in all aspects of the programme of work.
Full training will be provided in sediment analysis techniques necessary for the work.
