Overview
Join us for the Senior Building Surveyor role at Egis in the UK. The role is based in Glasgow or Edinburgh, with assignments primarily in Scotland and occasional work across the UK.

The SBS will work with our existing team of building surveyors on projects in both the public and private sectors, combining survey work (condition surveys, PPM, pre-acquisition) with contract administration, and will benefit from a strong understanding of construction technology.
Responsibilities
* Act as the interface for projects between the client, other designers and the contractor to support successful project delivery.
* Inspect existing properties and develop scope, budget costs and programmes for implementation of proposed works.
* Regularly liaise with the client to understand requirements and project drivers; keep them updated on project activities.
* Provide guidance on procurement approaches to achieve project deliverables.
* Manage design, programme and cost information to support client decision-making.
* Ensure effective communication channels support project delivery.
* Develop tender documentation and specifications using NBS; manage and coordinate the tender process and prepare tender reports with recommendations for contractor appointment.
* Chair and minute project meetings; act as Contract Administrator and process all required project notices and correspondence.
* Monitor site quality and ensure contractor compliance with contract terms and drawings/specifications.
* Ensure relevant parties meet their obligations and comply with health & safety legislation.
* Represent Thomas & Adamson professionally, upholding company values.
* Undertake survey work (dilapidation, PPM, condition, schedule of condition, pre-acquisition) and prepare concise client reports within legal constraints.
* Coordinate and prepare project reports and provide cost advice as needed for projects and related reports.
* Oversee/review work of sub-consultants or junior staff as required for project delivery.
* Represent T&A at client meetings, provide guidance on project assignments and follow up actions.
* Maintain clear communication with clients and consultants; identify risks and mitigation measures to protect client and company interests.
* Lead and participate in resource allocation, mentoring of junior staff and professional development within the team.

What we need from you
* You are a Chartered Building Surveyor.
* Awareness of current Health & Safety legislation and Building Regulations.
* Contract Administration and Project Management experience across multiple projects.
* Experience with Dilapidations, Due Diligence Survey Work, Schedules of Condition and Planned Maintenance Inspections.
* Interest in construction technology and its relation to building defects.
* Proficiency in CAD with knowledge of building standards and related processes.
* Ability to demonstrate strong client relationships and effective collaboration with stakeholders.
