Overview
Harrison Davies Partners are currently recruiting exclusively for a Group Financial Controller for a Lancashire based listed business going through an extensive period of change.
Responsibilities
* Oversee daily accounting operations, including AP, AR, payroll, and general ledger.
* Streamline the month-end close process through standardisation, automation, and data accuracy improvements.
* Ensure accurate and timely financial statements in compliance with UK GAAP & IFRS.
* Manage inventory and costing, ensuring correct valuation and reporting.
* Conduct variance analysis and deliver insights on performance and key drivers.
* Develop and implement robust internal controls to safeguard financial integrity.
* Monitor cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting to support decision-making.
* Collaborate with auditors and tax advisors for statutory compliance.
* Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 3–4 accounting professionals.
* Partner with senior management on strategic initiatives and financial planning.
* Drive process improvements and automation across finance operations.
Qualifications
* Extensive accounting/financial management, with ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualification.
* Strong knowledge of UK GAAP & IFRS.
* Experience in inventory management and costing.
* Excellent communication skills — able to explain complex data clearly to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
* Strong business partnering ability with General Managers and leadership teams.
