NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Health Visitor Team Lead within the Children’s Nursing Service in East Renfrewshire Health and Social Care Partnership. The post holder will manage Health Visiting staff across the East Renfrewshire locality.

The shift pattern for this post is Monday – Friday 8.30am – 4.30pm

We are looking for an inspiring individual to provide both professional leadership and operational management, leading the delivery, planning and development of clinical care in Children and Families Nursing services. The East Renfrewshire Health Visiting teams along with our clinical support staff deliver services at a universal and targeted level to support the wellbeing needs of children, young people and their families.

This leadership role offers opportunity to be involved at a senior level to develop the quality of health visiting universal services for children and families across East Renfrewshire. The post holder will have experience in delivering Scotland’s Public Health agenda, including Getting it Right for Every Child, The Promise and the Children and Young People’s Act 2014.

The post holder will be highly skilled health visitor with an interest in leadership and people management. They will have a flexible strengths-based approach, be innovative and quality orientated with an ability to respond positively to change.

The successful candidate will currently be a Registered Nurse with the NMC and have a qualification in Health Visiting or Public Health Nursing.

A Post-Graduate Certificate in Child Protection is desirable but not essential.

This post is based in Barrhead Council Offices but may involve working in a variety of locations and supporting the Eastwood team.

As from 1st April 2026, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part time hours will be reduced pro-rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.
