We seek to appoint a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer with expertise in Electrical Engineering to join the Department of Electrical, Electronic and Robotic Engineering at Roehampton Vale. The postholder will contribute to the delivery, development, and enhancement of teaching across the electrical engineering provision within the department’s undergraduate and postgraduate portfolio, and undertake research within this field. Key areas of teaching include electrical machines, power systems, power control and related subjects. The role will include module leadership, project supervision, curriculum development, and contribution to student achievement and academic quality. The successful candidate will join a growing, forward looking department with a strong emphasis on hands‑on learning, industry relevance, and future skills.
The successful candidate will hold a PhD in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, and will demonstrate a strong commitment to high‑quality teaching, student achievement, and research within this area. They will demonstrate sound knowledge of core electrical engineering subjects and solid experience of relevant practical laboratory equipment such as transformer test rigs, electrical machines, power supply benches, three‑phase systems, and associated software tools. Experience of student support and project supervision is expected, together with the ability to contribute to academic quality and wider departmental activity. For appointment at Senior Lecturer level, candidates should also demonstrate a broader contribution to leadership, programme development, and scholarly or professional activity. Strong organisational, interpersonal and collaborative skills, and a commitment to inclusive, practice‑led and industry‑informed engineering education, are essential.
This is a full‑time, permanent position with a starting salary of £45,025 per annum for a Lecturer and £50,160 per annum for a Senior Lecturer, depending on the skills and experience of the successful applicant.
