We are currently recruiting for an experienced Vehicle Technician to join a busy automotive operation in Derby. This is an excellent opportunity to join a modern workshop environment carrying out servicing, repairs, diagnostics, and vehicle inspections on a wide range of vehicles.
The successful candidate will be a skilled technician with a strong mechanical background and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
The Role:
As a Vehicle Technician, your responsibilities will include:
1. Carrying out vehicle servicing, maintenance, and repairs
2. Completing MOT inspections and testing where qualified
3. Performing air conditioning servicing and repairs as required
4. Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults
5. Undertaking road tests and ramp inspections
6. Carrying out repairs in line with approved methods and manufacturer standards
7. Completing warranty repairs where required
8. Ensuring all job cards and workshop documentation are completed accurately
9. Working efficiently to maintain workshop productivity and quality standards
Please note: There may be a future requirement to work occasional Saturday shifts on a rota basis. This is not currently in place but candidates should be flexible should business requirements change.
The Person:
10. Previous experience as a Vehicle Technician, Mechanic, or Mechanical Inspector
11. NVQ Level 2, NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent qualification
12. Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills
13. Full UK Driving Licence held for a minimum of 2 years
14. Own tools are essential
15. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
16. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
