Full time salary: £109,725 - £145,478. Part Time 0.5 FTE (20 h per week). Fixed Term contract to July 2028. Closing date: 4 June 2026. Post: Clinical Assistant Professor (107408) or Assistant Professor (107411) – only one post available.
Academic Development Programme
New Assistant Professors undertake a 5‑year development programme culminating in promotion to Associate Professor.
Role Summary
Deputy director of MSc Artificial Intelligence Implementation (Healthcare). Co‑lead a 5‑day teaching block and dissertation module. Work with senior staff, NHS Trusts and national networks to ensure education is responsive and anticipatory. Contribute to education activities and maintain collaborative relationships. Deliver teaching, enhance student experience and employability. Advise on curriculum development and student support.
Main Duties
Education
* Lead curriculum development and renewal.
* Develop and manage best practice teaching and learning approaches.
* Advise others on learning, teaching, and assessment.
* Deliver professional programmes where appropriate.
* Advance teaching practice and support student academic, pastoral support.
* Inform teaching practice through discipline‑based research.
* Update subject expertise; pursue personal professional development; use student and peer review.
* Play role in recruitment and admissions; co‑supervise doctoral students to completion.
* Teach and examine courses at multiple levels.
* Plan and review teaching approaches; encourage colleagues.
* Design inclusive, engaging curricula.
* Collaborate to deliver teaching, learning, assessment.
* Use digital resources effectively.
* Develop programme proposals and contribute to teaching programme design.
* Supervise, mark, examine where appropriate.
* Advise on learning & teaching tasks and methods.

* Administer teaching across Department/School.
* Lead and manage team for new/revised processes.

* Contribute to appropriate professional leadership within the health system.
Person Specification
* Higher degree (usually PhD) or equivalent qualification.
* Extensive teaching experience and scholarship within subject specialism.
* Proven ability to devise, advise on and manage learning.
* Skills in managing, motivating & mentoring others.
Teaching Requirements
* Ability to design, deliver, assess and revise teaching programmes.
* Extensive experience and success in developing learning approaches.
* Experience in knowledge transfer, enterprise and similar activity.
Management & Administration Requirements
* Ability to contribute to School/Departmental management processes.
* Ability to assess and organise resources effectively.
* Understanding and ability to contribute to broader management/administration processes.

Clinical Requirements
* Healthcare professional with relevant registration for clinical discipline and at least five years’ experience.
* Clinical training and experience in digital transformation and implementation of AI/digital health technologies into NHS settings.
