Fixed Term or Secondment Opportunity
*Secondment Opportunity – Existing permanent employees must first discuss this opportunity with their substantive line manager and complete the secondment request form prior to interview. The secondment request form and the associated secondment policy can be found on the HR/Recruitment intranet pages and must be completed and signed by the substantive line manager. The Candidate should then take it with them to interview as confirmation that an agreement has been granted.
We currently have an opportunity available for an HR professional to work within the Operational HR Team; to support the provision of guidance to managers and staff across the full range of the human resources function.
Responsibilities
You will be required to provide a comprehensive operational HR service to managers and staff on a full range of HR issues, including terms and conditions of service; the application and interpretation of HR policies, procedures and codes of practice; employee relations; employment legislation, conducting investigations etc, ensuring that all advice and support is in line with Once for Scotland policies, NHS Forth Valley policies, employment legislation and best practice.
Working autonomously to support the development and implementation of modern employment processes and practices at a time of continuous change within the organisation, whilst maintaining an effective operational service and assisting effective partnership working.
There will also be the requirement to participate on a rota to support the HR Connect Helpdesk and enquiry portal.
Assist other members of the HR team in developing and facilitating training and awareness sessions on HR policies and legislation for managers and staff across the organisation.
Qualifications
In order to be successful within this role, you must have previous experience operating at this level and hold excellent communication, sound interpersonal, organisational and facilitation skills. The ability to influence individuals and manage complex HR situations is essential.
You should be educated to degree level and/or equivalent level of experience in an operational HR role, preferably within the NHS or a similar large organisational setting. You should be in possession of or working towards CIPD membership.
Ability and willingness to travel throughout the area of service delivery is essential for this post.
The duties of this post require the successful candidate to complete a Level 2 Disclosure Scotland check.

Working Hours
As from 1/4/26, the Agenda for Change full‑time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part time hours will be reduced pro‑rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.
