You will work with our patients, multidisciplinary teams and a wide range of stakeholders from our Priory Hospital Roehampton & Hayes Grove sites. You will also work closely with the other Mental Health Act roles and may need to support sites across our South Region. This may mean completing tasks and activities for individual patients or working with the region to develop and implement new procedures, helping to make sure our patients legal rights are safeguarded.
You will be responsible on a day-to-day basis for the administration and implementation of the Mental Health Act and Mental Health Act Code of Practice. This is a varied role and you will need to be a strong communicator and very well-organised. Ideally you will have administration experience and be able to prioritise competing tasks, work on your own initiative and be flexible and adaptable.
You will need to work with and engage an extensive range of healthcare professionals, local authorities, solicitors, Care Quality Commission staff, Tribunal Service: Mental Health staff, Ministry of Justice staff and other outside agencies including the Courts, voluntary sector and members of the public.
This is a specialist role and we will support you to do your best for patients by offering a specific Mental Health Act induction programme. Following this you will be offered ongoing support and training as you develop within the team. All our Mental Health Act Administrators are expected to place patient experience and care at the centre of their approach.
The role is 3 days a week and will report to the Regional Mental Health Law Lead but will also work closely with staff at Roehampton & Hayes Grove and other sites and Mental Health Act Administrators.
Must be able to drive.
