You will be providing an expert consultancy service and advice to all NHSBT managers on a range of workforce issues to ensure that organisational objectives and workforce targets are achieved.

Working as an autonomous generalist practitioner, you will have the opportunity to develop your experience in a large, multi-functional Organisation with an interesting and challenging Workforce Strategy.This is an opportunity to join a strong and diverse multi-disciplinary team working across the UK.

Main duties of the job

In this role you will provide expert advice and interpretation of NHS/NHSBT terms and conditions and policies, enabling resolution of queries on a range of workforce issues. Your responsibilities will include:

Managing the informal stages of employee relations cases (Grievance, Disciplinary and Dignity at Work) seeking to resolve at the informal stage. Escalation to People & Culture Consultants when necessary.

Providing an internal consultancy service to all NHSBT managers on a range of workforce issues in a number of key result areas (not limited to):

- Performance Management

- Sickness Management and the Health and Well Being agenda

- Policies and Procedures implementation and development

- National and local Terms and Conditions of service

- Recruitment and Resourcing assessment, probation, induction

- Working closely with People Directorate teams to provide outcome focused holistic solutions to support operational managers and staff with their workforce issues.

Person Specification


Qualifications

* Qualified to post graduate diploma level (preferably in a HR or Business Administration field) OR equivalent experience (see Experience and Knowledge above)


Experience

* Experience of working in a busy people function, building knowledge of UK employment law, interpretation and application of staff terms and conditions, management of busy case load
* Good working knowledge of job evaluation schemes to enable advice and guidance on interpretation of the scheme and participate as an accredited panel member
* Experience of dealing with employee relations issues in a unionised environment
* Experience of supporting employee relations caseload from investigation to co-presentation at hearings
* Experience of working with Information Technology using Microsoft Office packages (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams and PowerPoint)
