We’re looking for a Tax Compliance Assistant to join us in Bradford.
The UK Tax Compliance Accountant will support and manage tax compliance and reporting activities performed within Liberty Blume on behalf of its customers. This will include agreeing delivery requirements with customers and delivering a service in line with those expectations with a focus on driving a culture of continuous process improvement and efficiency enabled by technology.
The overall objective of the Team is to provide a Tax return service which helps our customers to follow all applicable tax laws and regulations, file all of their tax returns on time and to pay the right amount of tax, when due, in each of the territories where they do business.
Our Team engage with the appropriate accounting, tax, commercial, legal and treasury teams in order to ensure that our goals are met. We aim to provide services that cover multiple local jurisdictions where the tax rules are complex and compliance obligations differ from territory to territory.
The Liberty Blume team is based in Bradford, UK. We work alongside with tax colleagues predominantly located in Leeds, London, Denver and Amsterdam.
What will you be doing?
1. Assist in the completion of various tax filings with focus on UK tax compliance
2. Provide corporate income tax support for non UK-jurisdictions serving the needs of Liberty Blume customers
3. Assist in completing and reviewing tax calculations for group companies related to depreciation, amortization, financial products, debt instruments and transaction impacts
4. Assist in modelling tax results for group companies, including collecting data and completing models to assist in preparation
5. Assist in researching tax issues including developing approach / basis for company’s tax position
6. Work to improve processes around tax compliance and information gathering, including: working with the Liberty accounting teams to refine deliverables used in the tax compliance and provision processes; and driving efficiencies through technology, innovation and automation
7. Assist in ad hoc projects and workstreams for the Corporate Tax Team as needed
8. Participate in tax team training and professional development opportunities.
9. Working towards the completion of a professional qualification would be expected (ATT, AAT, CTA, ACCA etc)
We tend to look for people with:
10. Part qualified accountant or tax advisor (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CTA etc) or a graduate who is keen to embark on an accounting/tax qualification.
11. Past experience of tax compliance activity an advantage but not essential.
12. Good communication and interpersonal skills
13. Attention to detail and ability to identify and drive the resolution of errors or issues
14. Strong computer literacy including Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint.
15. Self-motivated, well organized, able to prioritize and plan effectively, anticipate issues and solve problems
