The Welfare Officer will provide a robust welfare support service to RBLI veterans and beneficiaries, predominantly those living on the RBLI Village and assist, support and enable veterans to regain confidence and move forward with their individual journeys to re-integrate with society and the workplace, by working closely with them and other members of the Housing and Welfare team.
The role will support and enable veterans and beneficiaries to complete welfare benefits applications to maximise income and ensure financial stability and help bring about change, encourage healthy living, exercise, good diet and promote overall wellbeing to our beneficiaries. This will be achieved by developing and delivering a range of community events and activities across the RBLI village to actively encourage community cohesion and social skills.
The role will also provide support and guidance to Veterans and their dependents on the Village, to enable their transition to sustainable independent living beyond the Village, when appropriate.
