AIS is seeking an enthusiastic Test and Development Technician to join our Materials Engineering team. The successful candidate will conduct various tests, analyze materials performance, and assist in developing innovative solutions to improve our subsea buoyancy technology. The role involves collaboration with Development Engineers and Materials Technologists to ensure products meet industry standards and operational requirements.
Responsibilities include:
* Supporting development, testing, and qualification of new materials and products.
* Developing and documenting test procedures and methodologies.
* Performing hand calculations, analyzing data, and authoring technical reports.
* Preparing material samples to meet qualification requirements.
* Conducting sample preparation and testing according to industry specifications.
* Writing technical reports suitable for publication to clients.
* Maintaining and calibrating testing equipment.
* Keeping the laboratory and test facilities clean and functional.
* Establishing and maintaining test procedures and methods.
* Assessing risk and implementing safe working procedures.
* Supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the business.
