<div><p><b>Clinical Team Leader – Community Mental Health</b></p><p>Location: Park Royal Centre for Mental Health, Town London</p><p>Contract: 12 months (Fixed term)</p><p>Hours: Full time – 37.5 hours per week</p><p>Reference: 333-J-BR-0740-B</p><p>Band: NHS AfC: Band 7</p><p>Salary: £55,524 – £62,652 per annum (incl. If so, this could be the job for you! This role offers an opportunity to work as a Mental Health Clinical Team Leader for Brent Community Mental Health Team (CMHT). Candidates should have robust clinical expertise and be able to demonstrate progressive skills in clinical leadership and management.</p><p>Brent CMHT is one of the leading teams in the trust and was an early pioneer of the community transformation now embedded throughout. The trust supports staff development and learning opportunities for all levels, valuing authenticity and positive engagement with diverse communities.</p><p>Important: Successful candidates must be able to engage in Therapeutic Management of Violence and Aggression (TMVA) training, use of force techniques, and attend resuscitation training and perform CPR. The role requires completion of TMVA and resuscitation training during employment.</p><h3>Main duties</h3><p>The successful applicant will be a registered nurse with experience in multidisciplinary teams delivering adult mental health care. Experience in community mental health and knowledge of a CMHT are preferred.</p><p>Key responsibilities include day‑to‑day clinical and team management at the team level, using performance management systems to ensure effective delivery of clinical activity and quality standards. Collaboration with the Operational Team Manager, Clinical Leads/Senior Practitioners, Inpatient Service, and HTT is expected.</p><h3>Detailed responsibilities</h3><p>Manage a small caseload and coordinate multidisciplinary team clinical activities, setting clinical priorities and ensuring a high standard of care. Supervise and support clinical staff and provide resources on care coordination, statutory duties and complex care issues.</p><p>Provide strong clinical leadership, working closely with care coordinators to maintain high clinical care standards, informed by evidence‑based practice, the Operational Manager, and consultants. Safe recruitment practices are followed to protect children and vulnerable adults.</p><h3>Experience</h3><ul><li>Extensive experience in a mental health community setting.</li><li>Experience working within the CMHT delivery model.</li><li>Experience with people experiencing psychosis.</li><li>Experience supervising/mentoring students or junior staff.</li><li>Significant experience of Care Management/Care Coordination under CPA guidelines.</li><li>Team player with experience in multidisciplinary teams and multiple agencies.</li><li>Experience supervising and teaching/mentoring professional staff.</li><li>Experience with dual diagnosis work.</li><li>Experience with relapse prevention work.</li></ul><h3>Knowledge and Skills</h3><ul><li>Sound knowledge of CMHT principles and practice.</li><li>Knowledge of relapse prevention, psychosocial intervention and assertive outreach model.</li><li>Extensive knowledge of the Mental Health Act 1983, Amendments (2007) and related legislation.</li><li>Knowledge of the Children Act 1989.</li><li>Ability to conduct research and audit and implement evidence‑based practice.</li><li>Excellent interpersonal and diplomatic skills for developing positive relationships.</li><li>Effective communication skills, including handover and protocol interpretation.</li><li>Persuasive skills to motivate staff.</li><li>Understanding of delivering mental health services to a diverse multi‑ethnic population.</li><li>Flexibility to work according to service needs.</li><li>Negotiation skills and engaging service users creatively.</li><li>Time‑management, prioritisation of demands.</li><li>Clinical risk assessment, care planning, implementation and coordination.</li><li>Knowledge of Community Care Act 2014 responsibilities.</li><li>Proficiency in safeguarding issues.</li><li>Proven ability in Microsoft Office suite.</li><li>Knowledge of child protection issues.</li></ul><h3>Education & Qualifications</h3><ul><li>Professional qualification in Mental Health Nursing, Social Work or Occupational Therapy.</li><li>Evidence of Post‑qualification Training relevant to the role.</li><li>Certificate in Leadership and Management.</li><li>Relevant professional training such as psychosocial intervention, counselling, family therapy.</li></ul><h3>Person Specification</h3><p>The successful applicant will possess the above qualifications, experience and knowledge, and demonstrate strong clinical leadership, team management, and commitment to safeguarding and safeguarding all staff and service users.</p></div>
