Academics are currently recruiting a full-time School Site Manager to support a friendly local school in Canterbury. This is a hands-on, leadership role ideal for someone with experience in caretaking, facilities management, or school site operations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Overseeing the opening, closing, and security of the school site
* Managing general site maintenance, repairs, and building upkeep
* Carrying out regular health & safety checks and ensuring compliance
* Supervising and coordinating site staff, contractors, and cleaning teams
* Setting up rooms and facilities for school activities, events, and functions
* Ensuring school grounds are clean, safe, and well maintained
* Supporting staff with ad-hoc site and facilities-related tasks
* Implementing and maintaining site policies and operational procedures
The Ideal Candidate:
* Previous experience in a site management, caretaker, or facilities role (preferred)
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise staff and contractors
* Practical, hands-on, and proactive approach to problem-solving
* Solid understanding of health & safety regulations
* Ability to work independently and take initiative
* Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
