What you will be doing

As a qualified Nurse, you will ensure people with mental health conditions receive high-quality care, while also supporting your colleagues and promoting positive teamwork.
The wards are busy, with plenty to keep you engaged and motivated, and a good amount of routine and variety. Your day-to-day will include:
1. Providing high-quality, effective and compassionate nursing care to service users
2. Being responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care
3. Providing mentorship and support to team members
4. Observing, recording and reporting all service user changes, and maintaining accurate records of care provided
Skills and knowledge you will have:
5. A relevant nursing qualification
6. NMC registration

Where you will be working:
You will be working at the Gateway Recovery Centre, a state-of-the-art facility which provides care for men and women with complex mental health requirements.
The hospital is split into four distinct areas:
11. Male Autism Service for the challenging and complex needs of adults with Autism and Asperger’s syndrome
12. Assessment and rehabilitation for women with complex mental health needs and personality difficulties
13. Specialist inpatient service for older men with complex mental health and physical health needs.
14. Low secure care setting for men with a mental illness with or without personality disorder/mild LD
You will be working alongside the team with the aim to improve the mental health and wellbeing of service users and to help them develop and maintain healthy relationships with others. Gateway Recovery Centre will work to reduce risk behaviours associated with mental health conditions so that our patients can ultimately live successful and fulfilling lives within the community.
