The salary is £65,241 plus car and a 3% bonus. After a 6-month probationary period, blended working is available: 3 days in the office and 2 remote.

Job Purpose
The Commercial Services & Strategy Team requires a Quantity Surveyor to provide commercial support within Bury St Edmunds, ensuring framework contractors meet contractual obligations through effective commercial and contractual management.
The Assistant Quantity Surveyor will support the Commercial Manager with contract administration, oversee payments, resolve disputes, and assist with procurement and final account processes.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage contract payments and ensure compliance with terms
* Maintain detailed records and produce commercial reports
* Collaborate with contractors and internal teams to resolve issues
* Support procurement activities and provide commercial advice
* Lead and train direct reports, ensuring health, safety, and environmental standards are upheld
Qualifications
* Degree in Quantity Surveying or related field; experience in utilities sector advantageous
* Membership or working towards membership in RICS, ICES, CIMA
* Strong commercial, contractual, and negotiation skills
* Knowledge of construction contracts and industry costs
* Understanding of the electricity network and technical delivery
* Proficiency in Excel, SAP, and other systems
* Effective communication and problem-solving skills
