As part of our continued growth in service, we are looking for a SENCO to join our amazing team at New Barn School in Newbury, Berkshire.
About the Role
The SENCO will ensure that Special Education Needs provision is effectively and efficiently managed and that all legal and statutory requirements are met for students needing SEN.
The SENCO will take on the day-to-day responsibility within the Education Team to provide professional guidance on SEN to teaching staff, maintaining and increasing high standards of teaching, making good use of resources to improve standards, and achieving positive outcomes for students.
Responsibilities include reviewing, attending, and leading EHCP reviews for pupils; liaising with class teachers, multi-agency professionals, Headteacher, and Deputy Headteacher to ensure outcomes are updated and shared appropriately.
Qualifications:
* Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent
* Completed or working towards the SENCo qualification
* Qualification in special educational needs
Main Responsibilities:
* Meet the day-to-day responsibilities of the Education Team related to SEN.
* Maximize learning opportunities for all students.
* Monitor the quality of SEN support and implement effective systems.
* Collaborate with the therapy team to support learning delivery.
* Evaluate students' needs regularly and implement SEN systems to achieve positive outcomes.
* Participate in statutory reviews and meetings concerning students.
* Maintain and implement the SEN policy in line with current regulations.
* Oversee and monitor the quality of EHCPs/IEPs and support plans.
* Use Provision Mapping to track provisions for each student.
* Participate in and complete reports for PEP and LAC reviews.
* Support a small teaching role within the school.
