Engineering Office Manager (Engineering / Manufacturing)
Overview
We're looking for an organised, hands-on Engineering Office Manager to run office operations and bookkeeping for a growing manufacturing business with scope for progression as company grows. You will work closely with the Directors, liaise with project managers and shop-floor teams, and ensure the office and production support functions run smoothly.
Key responsibilities
* Take charge of day-to-day office operations and supervise office/admin staff.
* Manage bookkeeping: AP/AR, reconciliations, basic payroll support and month-end tasks liaise with accountant when required.
* Work to develop and maintain office procedures that support factory efficiency.
* Liaise daily with project managers and shop-floor staff to coordinate schedules, materials, and administrative support.
* Maintain accurate records, job paperwork, purchase orders and supplier communications as well as organising and filing QC documents.
* Organise meetings, prepare agendas and minutes; manage internal and external communications.
* Support recruitment coordination, onboarding, and basic employee relations.
* Keep the office organised, tidy compliant and safety-minded to support production goals and front of house presentation.
Essential qualifications
* Proven office/administration management experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment.
* Solid bookkeeping experience with QuickBooks,kashflow (or equivalent) and strong numeracy.
* Comfortable interacting with engineers, project managers and shop-floor teams.
* Excellent organisational, written and verbal communication skills.
* Able to prioritise, multitask and work proactively under pressure.
Desirable
* familiarity with shop-floor workflows, or basic technical understanding of engineering processes.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £12.21 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 37.5 per week
