About The Role
This is a unique opportunity to gain practical experience in a high-tech environment equipped with a variety of tools and equipment. You’ll work alongside a dedicated technical team to support the development, maintenance, and efficient operation of our environmental research laboratories.
Upon successful completion of the Laboratory Technician Apprenticeship, you’ll progress into a Level 2b Technical and Experimental (TAE) role at the University.
What You’ll Need
* 5 GCSEs at grade 4 or above (including English, maths, and science)
* Willingness to sit and pass aptitude tests
* A keen interest in technical support, innovation, and sustainability

Salary
On successful completion of the apprenticeship, pay will be the lowest spine point of Level 2b, which is Spine Point 17, £26,942 full-time equivalent. In year one, pay will be 60% of this, increasing to 70% in year two, and 80% in year three. All apprentices will receive at least the applicable National Minimum Wage or National Living Wage rate for their age, where this exceeds the contractual provisions.
