Shifts
Monday – Friday 7:30am – 4:00pm
The Role
As the Factory Supervisor, you will act as the vital focal point for all production-related queries from Sales, Technical, and other Production departments. Your primary focus is to lead a high-performing team, ensuring that production targets are met safely and efficiently while maintaining the highest quality standards.
Leadership & People Management
5. Team Development: Motivate all direct reports and foster strong working relationships within the department.
6. Performance Monitoring: Review production rates of team members and act accordingly to maintain output.
7. Staff Oversight: Manage timekeeping, attendance, and training, ensuring all changes are properly documented.
8. Employee Relations: Handle staff disciplinary procedures up to the initial warning level and escalate staffing requirements to the Production Manager or HR.
9. Safety & Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to Health and Safety procedures at all times, raising concerns to the H&S Manager and maintaining up-to-date fire evacuation records.
Operational Management
10. Production Planning: Review priorities and organise the team to achieve daily targets while minimising downtime for operators and machinery.
11. Quality Assurance: Maintain overall quality standards, including final production pass-off and coordination of tool, gauge, or drawing requests with QC.
12. Maintenance & Records: Coordinate maintenance requests and keep machine/setting records updated to ensure seamless absence cover.
13. Resource Management: Ensure company property is treated correctly and recommend improvements for enhanced performance.
14. Collaboration: Maintain positive communication with other departments to ensure on-time delivery and escalate complex issues to the Production Foreman when required.
Your Experience/ Requirements
15. Proven experience working in a manufacturing environment.
16. Direct experience with presses and forming equipment.
17. Previous supervisory experience with the ability to work under pressure.
18. Proficiency in using MRP/ERP systems.
19. In-depth knowledge of current Health and Safety procedures.
20. Engineering qualifications.
21. Lean Manufacturing qualifications or experience.
