Supplier Quality Engineer - The Opportunity
We are seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to join an established manufacturing business to take ownership of the Supplier Quality and performance. The client works in a highly regulated sector and this individual will be responsible for the performance and quality of the suppliers, supporting project teams by ensuring key suppliers deliver critical parts on time, in full and to the required standard.
Supplier Quality Engineer - Key Responsibilities
1. Supplier relationships, performance and the quality of their output
2. Ensuring the key suppliers deliver critical items on time, in full and to the require standard
3. Monitor progress of orders and manager suppliers
4. Identify and mitigate any quality issues, risks and supply chain disruption
5. Undertaking gate inspections, process witnessing and first article inspections (FAI)
6. Carry out new supplier assessments, quality audits and maintaining supplier accreditation records
7. Develop Supplier KPIs and metrics to monitor supplier performance, quality and to drive improvements.
8. Undertake failure analysis, conduct root cause analysis using tools such as 5 Why, 8D, Ishikawa and implementing corrective actions.
