Clinical Nurse Specialist – Colorectal
Band 6 Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) to join our Faster Diagnosis Service at Liverpool University Hospital Group, Aintree Hospital, Liverpool.
Full-time, 37.5 hours per week, Permanent, Salary £38,682 – £46,580 per annum, Yearly.
Job Overview
The CNS will assess patients with suspected cancer symptoms, expedite diagnosis within 28 days and support patients through the diagnostic journey.
Key Responsibilities
* Patient assessment and verbal communication.
* Management of patient pathway in line with the FDS framework.
* Co-ordination of the pathway with internal and external services.
* Act as contact point for patients, families and carers.
* Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team, GPs and external agencies.
* Provide expert patient support and coordinate treatment plans.
* Promote high quality, cost‑effective care and patient wellness.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Registered Nurse / Midwife / AHP.
* Post‑basic specialist qualification relevant to speciality.
* Evidence of continuous professional development.
Desirable
* Recordable specialist qualification.
* Independent Prescribing.
* ECDL.
Experience
* Post registration experience.
* Extensive clinical experience.
* Involvement in audit.
Knowledge
* In‑depth specialist knowledge of colorectal pathway.
