Role Summary:
We are looking for a detail-oriented Accountant or Bookkeeper with a strong understanding of day-to-day financial operations, particularly in small to medium-sized businesses. This is a support-focused role, ideal for someone who is still actively engaged in accounting or bookkeeping and can bring real-world insights into financial workflows. Experience in tech environments and an interest in AI trends in finance and HR are highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities:
* Analyze financial performance of 90 sample companies (ranging from poor to excellent) and produce insightful reports.
* Collaborate with product and technical teams on period close and cash flow forecasting initiatives.
* Document detailed, step-by-step accounting processes for training a large language model (LLM).
* Provide subject matter expertise in financial processes during design and planning sessions.
* Engage with stakeholders across departments to ensure financial accuracy and relevance in product features.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
* Current or recent hands-on experienceas an accountant or bookkeeper, preferably in small or medium-sized businesses.
* Strong understanding of UK accounting standards and financial operations.
* Experience working in or withtechnology companiesis a plus.
* Interest inAI applicationsin finance and HR is highly valued.
* Comfortable with documentation and process mapping.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
* International experience (especially in Germany, France, or Spain) is a bonus.
Preferred Qualifications:
* AAT, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent accounting qualification (part-qualified or qualified).
* Familiarity with tools like Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, or similar.
* Exposure to financial forecasting, treasury management, and period close processes.
* Experience or interest in training AI models or working with AI-enhanced tools.
