Job Overview
At Your Housing Group (YHG) our priorities are to keep people safe and be a great landlord. As a Tenancy Support Officer, you will play a key role in supporting new and existing YHG customers with their practical and personal challenges, delivering pro‑active solutions to enable customers to sustain their tenancy. Responsibilities
Qualify new and existing customers for support on issues that could jeopardise their tenancy. Manage your own caseload and work in partnership with customers, colleagues and external agencies, taking a holistic approach. Build trusting relationships with customers, support them to develop confidence and tenancy‑management skills, and triage referrals. Work collaboratively with tenancy support colleagues, sharing good practice, ideas, contacts and solutions. Keep case notes and records updated, collecting key data to demonstrate positive outcomes.
Qualifications
* Experience in providing one‑to‑one support to vulnerable customers in a social housing context.
* Good knowledge of best practice in safeguarding adults and safeguarding children.
* The ability to build good working relationships with partner agencies.
* Experience of developing support plans with customers and key internal/external stakeholders.
* Excellent communication skills.
Ideally you will be a passionate advocate for people who need support, someone who focuses on building the positives in customers’ lives, building trust and empathy, and working positively with colleagues and other professionals. This role is suited to someone who is resilient and persistent, finds creative ways to engage with customers, can work independently and manage their own caseload.
Benefits
£27,000 – £27,904 per annum for a 35‑hour week, with 25 days (pro‑rata) annual leave plus Bank Holidays. We offer a generous benefits package, including a contributory pension matched up to 8%, an advanced level Healthcare cash plan through Medicash (covering dental, optician cashback and health and wellbeing benefits), and an employee discount scheme for entertainment, fitness and high‑street retailers. You are also entitled to genuine progression opportunities and training, both from YHG and local authority partners.
Applications will be subject to a satisfactory Basic DBS check.
