Cosmetic Repairers - £23,000 - 30,000 OTE Plus Bonuses - Honiton, Tiverton, Okehampton, Cullompton
We are in search of hard surface cosmetic repairers, ideally with a Fine Finishing background such as Vehicle Repair and Paint Technicians, Factory Furniture Sprayers, Factory Metal Finishing Sprayers. Candidates should be able to operate a spray gun, not be colour-blind, and have a keen eye for detail. Experience as a cosmetic surface repairer in the building trade is a bonus. Training will be provided, with opportunities for advancement within the company.
Our service area covers Somerset, Devon, Cornwall, and parts of Dorset. Our clients include major national house builders, regional builders, tradespeople, local authorities, educational institutions, MOD, care homes, hospitals, private homeowners, and manufacturers of doors and windows.
Initial preferred locations: Devon, specifically Okehampton, Honiton, Cullompton, Tiverton.
Starting salary: £23,000, increasing to £24,000 plus bonus after the first year for proven performers, with potential to earn £30,000 or more.
Hours: Salary-based role with additional bonuses after 12 months. Typical work hours are from 8:30 AM, with daily work duration varying depending on the job, travel distance, and work complexity. Employees may finish between 3:30 PM and 6:00 PM.
Work varies daily, including site visits, multi-build projects, high-end designs, military sites, indoor and outdoor work, repairs on baths, doors, windows, brickwork, stonework, new builds, and historical properties. Travel distances range from 5 minutes to approximately 1.5 hours. Van and fuel are supplied and paid for by the company.
Uniform is supplied, with trousers required to be black or navy blue (not jeans). PPE is provided. A company van, mobile phone, and credit card (for fuel only) are provided after initial training.
Bonuses: Monthly bonus system after 12 months, new customer sales bonus, and new site bonus are available immediately.
Benefits include 21 days of holiday plus bank holidays, a standard workplace pension, and unpaid sick leave at management's discretion.
Candidate requirements: Must not be colour-blind, comfortable working at heights using ladders, scaffolds, etc. CSCS cards can be arranged during training, with a small fee for the card and test.
Training involves six weeks: the first two weeks are classroom and practical training; subsequent weeks include supervised work with trained technicians, gradually increasing independent work.
