Join us at NCC and play a key role in supporting world‑leading engineering and manufacturing projects. We're looking for a proactive and highly organised Stores Officer to keep our operations running smoothly by ensuring the efficient receipt, control and movement of materials and equipment across our HQ. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong experience in stores, logistics or engineering environments who enjoys working in a fast‑paced, hands‑on role at the heart of our day‑to‑day operations.
Responsibilities
* Managing goods‑in, unloading deliveries and receipting items accurately in line with procurement and finance processes.
* Coordinating forklift movements and storing goods safely in accordance with NCC procedures.
* Maintaining stock control, replenishing consumables, recording usage and forecasting requirements with the Stores Manager.
* Preparing and completing dispatch of outgoing goods, including packaging, paperwork and loading.
* Supporting logistics, including courier arrangements and occasional van‑driving to support business needs.
* Issuing and tracking lifting & handling equipment across NCC sites (e.g. slings, chains, cranes, forklifts, pallet trucks, MEWPs).
* Carrying out regular 5S activities to ensure stores and wider HQ areas remain clean, organised and compliant.
* Acting as primary zone owner for the stores area.
* Working collaboratively with project teams and internal stakeholders to ensure efficient and timely material flow.
Qualifications
* Strong engineering stores or logistics experience.
* Qualified forklift and crane operator.
* Experience in an engineering, manufacturing or logistics stores environment, confident working with stock systems and materials handling processes within a safety‑focused setting.
* Takes initiative and is comfortable navigating non‑routine or uncertain situations.
* Communicates clearly and professionally with colleagues and suppliers.
* Builds trust by completing tasks accurately and on time.
* Supports others across the stores function, contributing to continuous improvement.
* Confident recognising safety risks, understanding COSHH considerations and supporting improvements in safe working practices.
* Proactive in maintaining high standards of housekeeping, compliance and quality.
Desirable
* Experience in an aerospace or advanced manufacturing environment.
* Full UK driving licence required.
* Must be over 21 years of age to be eligible for insurance purposes to drive the company van as a requisite of the role.
