Are you a seasoned tendering professional with a passion for complex energy infrastructure projects? Join a leading force in the UK's renewable and industrial energy landscape, delivering engineering excellence across solar, battery energy storage (BESS), carbon capture, and heavy industrial sectors.
Net Zero People are working with a leading ICP seeking a Senior Tendering Engineer to take the lead in managing high-value, high-voltage EPC project tenders — from LV up to 400kV. You’ll play a crucial role in securing major contracts through accurate cost modelling, robust stakeholder engagement, and mentoring junior talent within a high-performing team.
What You'll Be Doing
* Tender Leadership – Manage the preparation and submission of competitive and compliant tenders, including the review of drawings, technical specs, and contracts (JCT, FIDIC, NEC).
* Cost Estimating – Build detailed and accurate cost models using Bluebeam and Causeway software, preparing bills of quantities and validating subcontractor costs.
* Supply Chain Negotiation – Develop strong supplier relationships, issue RFQs, assess bids, and negotiate pricing to maximise value and project competitiveness.
* Client Engagement – Act as a key point of contact for clients and consultants, guiding tender discussions and contributing to high-quality, on-time submissions.
* Clarifications & Handover – Lead tender clarifications, support adjudication meetings, and ensure a smooth handover to operational teams post-award.
* Mentoring & Reporting – Coach junior engineers and contribute to strategic reporting on costs, margins, and performance.
About You
* Degree-qualified in engineering, quantity surveying, or similar.
* Minimum of 5 years’ experience in tendering/estimating within construction or energy sectors, particularly in EPC projects.
* Advanced user of Causeway, Bluebeam or similar estimating/take-off tools.
* Confident working with major contract forms (JCT, FIDIC, NEC).
* Strong communicator with excellent analytical and negotiation skills.
* Proven leadership ability and a passion for team development.
Why Join Us?
* Work on pioneering projects in clean energy and infrastructure.
* Flexible, remote-first culture with supportive leadership.
* Opportunities to mentor, lead and influence strategic growth.
* Career progression in a growing, innovation-driven organisation.
