Region: West Yorkshire
Description
West Yorkshire | £45,000 – £50,000 + Overtime (Up to £70k OTE) | Office-Based with Travel to Client Sites
Are you a Network Engineer who thrives on being hands‑on — from the rack to the router? We’re looking for a technically minded engineer with solid routing and switching skills to join a well-established IT & network services provider in West Yorkshire.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who loves building, installing, and supporting real-world network solutions — not just designing them on paper.
Key Responsibilities:
Install, configure, and support LAN/WAN network infrastructure, including switches, routers, and wireless access points.
Carry out on‑site deployments, including racking, patching, and cabling network hardware in cabinets and comms rooms.
Perform CAB swaps, hardware refreshes, and network upgrades across client environments.
Deliver field‑based support and troubleshooting, ensuring client networks remain stable and performant.
Conduct site audits and produce clear documentation for installations and changes.
Work closely with internal project and support teams to ensure seamless handover and ongoing service quality.
Provide occasional out‑of‑hours or overtime support during project rollouts or maintenance windows (with additional pay).
Technical Environment:
You’ll gain exposure to a variety of modern networking technologies, including:
Routing & Switching – layer 2/3 configuration and support (Aruba, Cisco, HP, Juniper, etc.)
Wireless Networks – deployment and support of Aruba and Cisco Wi‑Fi solutions
Network Security – VLANs, ACLs, and firewall rulebase awareness (Fortinet / Palo Alto desirable)
Monitoring & Management Tools – SolarWinds, Aruba AirWave, or similar platforms
Cabling & Infrastructure – structured cabling, patching, and comms cabinet standards
What We’re Looking For:
Mid‑level Network Engineer (ideally 3–5+ years’ experience) with proven hands‑on installation and support skills.
Comfortable working on‑site and independently — someone who enjoys physical installation as much as network configuration.
Strong understanding of routing, switching, VLANs, and network topologies.
Aruba networking experience preferred; Cisco knowledge also highly regarded.
Certifications (e.g. Aruba Certified, CCNA, CCNP) desirable but not essential.
Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to client sites across the region.
Based within commuting distance of our West Yorkshire HQ.
What’s On Offer:
£45,000 – £50,000 base salary (depending on experience)
Generous overtime opportunities – realistic OTE £60,000–£70,000+
Training and certification support (including Aruba and Cisco pathways)
Friendly, technically skilled team environment with strong retention and support culture
Exposure to diverse client environments across Yorkshire and the North of England
Why Apply?
This is an excellent role for a hands‑on engineer who loves variety, problem‑solving, and seeing their work in action. You’ll be part of a growing business with a great reputation for delivery — where your expertise makes a visible difference to clients every day.
Apply now to take your next step in a practical, rewarding, and technically diverse Network Engineer role in West Yorkshire.
