Job Title: Agricultural Service Engineer
Location: Tingewick
Working Hours: Monday – Friday, 40-hour week, with additional hours and occasional weekends as required
The Role
My client is seeking an experienced Agricultural Service Engineer to work on a range of premier farm equipment from leading brands in the industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, and repairing agricultural machinery to manufacturer specifications, ensuring machine reliability, safety, and optimal performance.
Key responsibilities include:
* Service and maintain agricultural machinery to manufacturer specifications.
* Diagnose and rectify electrical, hydraulic, powertrain, and other faults prior to initiating and completing repairs.
* Operate diagnostic software via a laptop computer (training provided).
* Complete detailed reports of work carried out, including supporting photographs and documentation of all labour times.
* Inspect machines returning from demonstrations to ensure they are complete and undamaged.
* Consult with colleagues in the service department on operational matters.
* Assist in preparing for shows, open days, and other events.
* Attend manufacturer or factory training days when available.
* Identify machine defects and upsell service solutions where appropriate.
* Maintain a strong understanding of GPS, telematics, and machine controllers.
Ideal Experience & Skills
* Full UK driving licence.
* Experience working with a variety of machinery in agricultural, commercial vehicle, or construction industries.
* Relevant qualifications in Land-Based Engineering or similar are desirable.
* Strong customer service skills with the ability to build long-term relationships.
* Excellent time management, capable of prioritising tasks to meet deadlines without compromising safety.
* Ability to work under pressure in a busy workshop environment.
* Flexible approach, capable of working independently or as part of a team.
* Good communication skills with both customers and colleagues.
