Responsibilities
* Provide skilled specialist assistance in the delivery of direct and indirect patient care throughout the Operating Department.
* Participate as an integral member of the team, covering a full range of shifts, including earlies, lates, nights, weekends and ad hoc on calls (if necessary).
* Act as the patient advocate and maintain high standards of patient care, in line with NMC or HCPC code of conduct.
* Be involved in supporting and mentoring students and new staff as appropriate.

* We are looking for qualified theatre practitioners (RN/RODP) with or without theatre experience. The successful candidate will be trained for the specialty offered.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience
Essential criteria
* Registered nurse or ODP on relevant part of the register
* Degree or equivalent experience
* Ability to assist in the intraoperative phase of perioperative care with concise handover
* Kno wledge of supporting learners in practice and creating a positive learning environment
* Practices and promotes evidence-based practice
* Knowledge of current issues within acute health service
* Understanding of personal accountability
* Aptitude for caring for the anaesthetised and/or acutely unwell patient
Desirable criteria
* Experience of teaching and supporting learners in practice
* Resuscitation qualification (e.g., Immediate Life Support)
* Experience in relevant care settings
* Specialist theatre work-based learning or mentorship course post-qualification
* Interest in research to promote good practice
