How you'll make a differenceAs the Principal Technical Delivery Manager, you will lead the successful delivery of complex, high-impact digital and technology projects/programmes that support critical public services. Translating business requirements into clear, actionable delivery plans, you will make sure teams are aligned around defined outcomes and measurable benefits. Through strong technical oversight, proactive risk management and the application of robust governance and hybrid waterfall/agile delivery approaches, you will ensure solutions are secure, scalable and sustainable, delivering lasting value for the organisation and the communities we serve. What you will be doingIt will be your responsibility to lead the end-to-end delivery of complex, high-value digital and technical projects and/ or programmes aligned to organisational priorities.You will provide oversight of architecture, risk, dependencies and technical design to ensure secure, resilient and scalable solutions.By leading multidisciplinary teams and managing third-party suppliers, you will drive performance, accountability and continuous improvement.It will be key for you to establish and maintain clear governance, assurance and reporting for senior leaders and boards.To maintain delivery momentum, you will remove any blockers whilst managing budgets, risks and interdependencies.You will champion user-centred, data-informed and hybrid waterfall/agile delivery practices. What we need from youYou must have significant experience delivering complex technical and digital projects and/or programmes within large, multi-stakeholder environments.With a strong understanding of technology architecture, integration, security and digital service design principles, you will have the confidence to challenge constructively and support sound decision-making.We require you to have proven leadership of multidisciplinary teams and external suppliers to deliver measurable outcomes.It is essential that you have excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to operate credibly at senior and executive level.Given the elements of this role, you will have demonstrable experience managing budgets, risks, dependencies and formal assurance processes.You will be resilient, pragmatic and have an outcome-focused approach, with the ability to bring clarity to complexity and drive delivery at pace. What you need to knowThis is for a 12-month limited term contract.We are also offering this as an internal secondment opportunity, you should first seek your line managers permission before applying.This role is hybrid, with a mixture of working at our office in Badminton Road, Yate and from home.
