We are recruiting for a Porter - Strathmore Renal Unit who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.
The post holder will move patients by bed, wheelchairs, and trolleys, change medical gases, collect blood products and take specimens to the pathology lab.
Be familiar with appropriate Health and Safety Policies and Procedures
Co-operate with the Trust in maintaining suitable standards of Health and Safety including adhering to all Trust Policies and Procedures; always work in compliance with rules and working practices. Report all unsafe situations, incidents and accidents to your Manager or Nurse in Charge

Main duties of the job
The post holder will effectively convey patients by wheelchair, beds, trolleys etc., as requested.
Provide portering assistance as requested by medical and nursing staff.
To carry out ad-hoc request work as instructed by the Team Leader.
To collect specimens on a regular basis from Strathmore Renal Unit to other departments, delivering them to the Pathology Department.
Deliver units of blood and blood products from the Pathology Department to Strathmore Renal Unit as needed.
Collect acid cans and other stock items from Level 2 or other parts of the hospital to our unit.
To make sure stock room is well organized and fully stocked.
