Description
Work as part of our 24/7 NOC (MCR) team to co-ordinate and monitor the transmission and ingest of all incoming and outgoing broadcast material at our headquarters at Gray’s Inn Road. This is an important role as part of ITN’s live operations, working closely with our studios and supporting our broadcast infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
1. Configure broadcast technical equipment to receive and send video content
2. Line-up guest and contributors into our news programmes
3. Ensure video specs and formats meet our standards and specifications
4. Work with our field engineers to plan and test video and comms circuits for outside productions
5. Work closely with our studios to support news for ITV, Channel 4, Channel 5 and other news productions
6. Control our recording platform to record content for our newsroom
7. Manage and operate technologies relating to VOIP including Skype, Zoom, Quicklink etc.
8. Investigate technical faults, providing 1st and 2nd line support of issues alongside our support engineers
9. Manage and monitor data throughput and bandwidth to ensure satisfactory quality
10. Monitor the health and stability of our video and IP video infrastructure
11. Liaise with internal and external customers and suppliers over the delivery of programme and shared material
12. Offer technical guidance to editorial and non-technical colleagues as required
13. Provide accurate reporting on faults and program deliveries and follow up with testing for root cause analysis
14. Play a key role in the planning, booking and delivery of IP video and audio needed to produce ITN programming and large-scale events
15. Play a key role in the development of the new digital operations area, embracing technological change

Technical Experience:
22. Fundamental understanding of a broadcast signal chain, video & audio formats, and QC procedures
23. A good understanding of encoding standards for both file based and Live video & audio
24. Previous experience with Ingest systems such as Vantage, EVS, Content Agent, Media Encoder
25. A working knowledge of TCP/UDP IP Networking within a broadcast environment
26. Experience with: Sim bonding technology such as LiveU and AviwestVideo calling services & sharing platforms (Skype, Facetime, Zoom, Teams, YouTubeLive audio/video encoding and streaming technologies.
