Pay Our Tesco Colleague rate of pay starts from £12.45 an hour; this increases to £13.66 for stores within the M25. Additional payments may also apply depending on location.

It is our policy to offer new colleagues joining us a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours each week, but if you would like to work fewer hours (to a minimum of 12) we have opportunities for this too and would still love to hear from you.

The weekly availability windows describe the periods of time we would like you to be available to work. We will schedule your contracted hours within these times, and you will have 3 weeks’ notice of exactly when your shifts will be. We are happy to support flexibility for our colleagues; if the times you are available to work match closely but not exactly to the advertised times, we would still love to hear from you.

You will be responsible for

* Knowing your customers and serving them with passion and pride; giving great natural service.
* Being passionate and knowledgeable about the products and services within the store.
* Working across the store in service, picking and replenishment areas where required.
* Applying training to work safely, effectively and to serve customers brilliantly.
* Making decisions that are right for customers and delivering store routines to meet customer needs at the right time.
* Taking part in seasonal, community and charity events, creating a great inclusive atmosphere.
* Being knowledgeable about store performance and the part you play in driving service, sales, reducing waste and shrink, and delivering profit.
* Handling products with care to maintain quality and ensure they reach customers in the best condition.
* Being yourself, living our values, making everyone feel welcome and following policies.
* Accept deliveries into the store when required.
