You will work in a small team across the whole project delivery process from the identification of client requirements to design, implementation and client support, whether the client is the prime contractor or the end user. You will work with the Technical Director or other senior engineer to understand and document client requirements, taking into account building and other regulations, particularly those associated with environmental protection and energy use. You will work with the Technical Director or other senior engineer to develop the detailed design solution. As your experience grows, you will create graphics for system implementation, assist in the writing of software, and assist in the specification, control and approval of drawings and other design documentation from suppliers and manufacturers. You will work with the Technical Director or other senior engineer to liaise with other employees and subcontractors involved in supply, installation and commissioning to ensure that client requirements are fully met on time and within cost constraints. The training you will be getting You will be working towards the Level 3 Building Services Engineering Technician Standard This will be day release at Trafford & Stockport College Group, Stretford campus. As the work will often take place on client sites it may involve a lot of travelling, sometimes leaving quite early or arriving home late. You will be paid for any travelling time within the terms of your employment contract and with the approval of your line manager. You may be required to work from home when not on a client site or in college. You will be provided with a high-quality laptop for work and study use in accordance with company policies. (There are strict limitations on what software can be installed). You will also be provided with a mobile phone for company use.
