We are seeking an accomplished and strategic Head of Transport to lead and develop transport operations for one of our valued public sector clients. This is a pivotal leadership role, overseeing the delivery of high-quality transport services across multiple sites, ensuring compliance with statutory obligations, and driving continuous improvement in line with organisational objectives. Key Responsibilities: Provide clear operational and strategic leadership for transport teams across the organisation. Ensure safe, efficient, and compliant transport services, including fleet management, maintenance, and procurement. Oversee non-patient and patient transport services, taxi contracts, and voluntary driver programmes. Manage budgets, ensuring best value and robust financial governance. Lead on service modernisation, workforce planning, and quality improvement initiatives. Act as the primary point of contact for transport-related statutory bodies and regional groups. About You: Degree or relevant professional qualification with substantial management experience, or significant experience in a senior management role. Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) in Road Haulage and/or Passenger Transport (or willingness to obtain the additional certificate if only one is held). Proven ability to deliver against challenging performance targets. Strong people management, governance, and organisational skills. Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence at senior levels. Full UK driving licence (or suitable alternative transport arrangements for candidates with disabilities).
