Amplifi Talent is partnering with an award-winning, locally owned, multi-site SME headquartered in Antrim, to recruit a suitably experienced Financial Controller on a permanent basis. With ambitious plans for growth, our client seeks a hands-on finance professional to lead and manage the finance function with a strong emphasis on control, insight, and financial guidance & support.
Role Overview
As Financial Controller, you will be responsible for the end-to-end financial management of the business. You will support senior leadership with timely, accurate, and insightful management accounts, financial reporting, budgeting, and cash flow management. This is a key hire as the business scales and professionalizes its finance operations. The role may suit a seasoned Finance Manager / Controller or an ambitious Management Accountant seeking to advance their career.
Key Responsibilities include:
1. Management Reporting & Analysis: Prepare and deliver accurate monthly management accounts, analyze financial performance, provide commentary on variances, and develop financial KPIs to support decision-making.
2. Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the annual budgeting process, manage reforecasting cycles, collaborate with department heads on budgets, and build financial models for planning and scenario analysis.
3. Cashflow & Working Capital: Manage and forecast cash flow, monitor working capital, liaise with suppliers and customers, and optimize liquidity to support operations and growth.
4. Financial Operations & Controls: Maintain internal controls, oversee finance operations (AP/AR, credit control, payroll, VAT), and coordinate with external accountants for year-end accounts and compliance.
5. Financial/Strategic Support: Support the MD and CEO on financial strategy, funding, investments, and contribute to commercial discussions, contracts, and pricing strategies.
Person Specification
Essential: Professional accountant with 5+ years of experience, ideally in an SME; strong in management accounts, budgeting, cash flow management; proficient in Excel and financial modeling; proactive and commercially minded.
Desirable: Experience in tech or related sectors; familiarity with Sage or similar cloud-based accounting systems.
