Job Summary
Based in our thriving facilities in East Cowes, the Calibration Engineer will support the business by calibrating and maintaining electronic and electrical instrumentation across both sites.
Job Responsibilities
Typical responsibilities include:
* Ensuring all equipment meets relevant specifications.
* Maintaining calibration records according to ISO 10021-1 latest edition.
* Keeping comprehensive computerized calibration records.
* Ensuring compliance with CAA, FAA, Nadcap, and customer requirements.
* Locating and dispatching equipment for external calibration (ISO, UKAS, British Standards, Manufacturer specifications, or in-house customer requirements).
* Serving as a point of contact for internal and external calibration needs.
* Prioritizing calibration tasks.
* Sourcing and ordering equipment and spares for the calibration department.
* Writing and updating work instructions to current standards.
* Maintaining safe working procedures.
* Ensuring work complies with the latest national and international standards.
* Identifying and implementing cost-saving measures and improving work practices.
* Performing secondary calibration methods to support business needs.
* Making minor adjustments to assets to meet tighter tolerances.
Job Qualifications
Candidates should demonstrate:
* Minimum Level 3 NVQ (or equivalent), obtained through a formal apprenticeship in manufacturing engineering or a related field.
* Extensive calibration experience within an industrial environment, focusing on electronic and electrical instrumentation.
* Formal metrology training or qualifications are advantageous, as is knowledge of aerospace manufacturing standards.
