Overview
Cambridge University Hospital Foundation Trust (CUH) is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Social Worker to join the new NHS Children and Young People's Gender Service (East of England). The role involves providing specialist assessment, treatment, planning, implementation and monitoring of outcomes for children and young people with gender‑related distress within a broader child and adolescent health context.
The position is part‑time or full‑time (minimum 3 days per week) and may involve a mix of gender service activity and another clinical area.
Responsibilities
* Lead the provision of social work services within the Women and Children Service.
* Provide specialist assessment, treatment, planning, implementation and monitoring of outcomes for the gender service population.
* Develop the multi‑professional clinical team through joint working, consultation, training and service development activities.
* Provide senior level support for research and audit activity in collaboration with professional groups and providers.
* Lead the provision of social work placement and research opportunities for trainee social workers as requested.
* Provide clinical supervision and training for social workers and other staff.
* Advise and work with the Head of Psychological Health Services to develop and implement service developments, policies, protocols and guidelines related to psychological services for this population.
