About The Post

The Safer Neighbourhood Service are now looking to recruit a Senior Officer to provide leadership to a specialist team within the service.
Your role in our journey
The Safer Neighbourhood Service is a diverse team focused on a range of statutory and non‑statutory functions including community safety, antisocial behaviour, environmental crime and blight, and all tenure housing management and regulation.
The post‑holder will work in partnership with a range of key stakeholders including South Yorkshire Police to provide strong, effective leadership to a specialist team, driving forward priority agendas including ASB and environmental enforcement. The post‑holder will be responsible for approximately 11 staff including Neighbourhood Wardens who are focused on working within local communities in close partnership with South Yorkshire Police.
The role requires excellent leadership skills to drive continuous service improvement and a sound working knowledge of legislation applicable to the role. It is important that all aspects of the role profile are met when applying for the position. The team works outside of normal office hours which may require the successful candidate to be available for occasional weekend or evening work.
We are looking for applicants who have experience within relevant areas of the role based on the job profile and with a particular focus on managing a team dealing with antisocial behaviour, community safety and environmental crime and blight.
Responsibilities
* Manage the day‑to‑day operation of a multi‑disciplinary, uniformed team.
* Engage with key stakeholders to broaden and develop closer working relationships.
* Provide support and guidance to frontline officers to support ongoing development.
* Act as an ambassador for the Safer Neighbourhood Service and maximise opportunities to engage with local community groups across your area.
