Job Title: HGV Cat C Driver
Hours: 16 hours per week
Working Days: Tuesdays & Wednesdays
Shift Length: 8.5 hours per shift (includes 30‑minute unpaid break)
Pay Rate: £14.87 per hour
Pay Frequency: Paid weekly on Fridays
Base Location: Newton Aycliffe
Typical Delivery Areas: Leeds, Hull, Washington, and surrounding regions
Role Overview
We are seeking a reliable and experienced HGV Cat C Driver to join our team on a part-time basis. Based out of Newton Aycliffe, you will be responsible for completing deliveries across Leeds, Hull, Washington, and surrounding areas.
This role involves operating a 26-tonne rigid vehicle, making it ideal for experienced drivers looking for consistent, part-time hours with a regular weekly pay structure.
Key Responsibilities
1. Safely operate a 26-tonne rigid (Cat C) vehicle
2. Complete delivery routes across Leeds, Hull, Washington, and other assigned areas
3. Ensure goods are transported securely and in line with company standards
4. Carry out daily vehicle checks before and after each shift
5. Accurately complete all relevant paperwork and digital logs
6. Deliver excellent customer service at all delivery and collection points
7. Comply with all road safety regulations and driving legislation
8. Maintain the cleanliness and presentation of the vehicle
Requirements
Essential:
9. Valid HGV Cat C (Class 2) licence
10. Proven experience driving a 26-tonne rigid vehicle
11. Current CPC qualification
12. Valid Digital Tachograph Card
13. Strong understanding of road safety and compliance
14. Ability to work independently
15. Reliable, professional, and detail-oriented
Desirable:
16. Knowledge of North East, Yorkshire, and Humberside delivery routes
17. Manual handling experience
18. Good communication and customer service skills
