The purpose of this role is to supervise operations through effective day-to-day management and engagement of transport colleagues within RTS Kineton & Gosport. The role ensures safety, compliance, service, and cost are competently controlled. The role holder is responsible for creating a positive working environment that supports operational delivery, maintains legal & safety compliance, and meets JSP/Civil authority regulations.
How you create impact
1. Take reasonable care of health and safety for yourself and others, ensuring compliance with legislation and environmental conservation.
2. Conduct regular QSHE checks and audits in your work environment.
3. Ensure visitors and driver colleagues understand their safety responsibilities and policies.
4. Complete all safety training requirements and promote a culture of health & safety, colleague wellbeing, and environmental responsibility.
5. Work with the Transport manager to ensure driver training and safety equipment are up to standard.
6. Report safety observations, hazards, near misses, and unsafe acts promptly.
7. Ensure colleagues use PPE correctly, conduct regular checks, and arrange replacements as needed.
8. Perform assurance checks, safety observations, communicate safety briefs, and foster a positive safety culture.
9. Supervise a team of driver colleagues, report to your Line Manager, and ensure effective communication and engagement within the team.

1. Knowledge of QSHE requirements.
2. Experience in operations, demonstrating team leadership and motivation skills.
3. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
4. Effective decision-making skills.
5. Leadership and teamwork abilities.
6. Experience supervising transport operations, particularly Class 1 to 9.
7. Strong leadership skills.
8. Good customer service approach.
9. Results-oriented with ownership of high standards and targets.
10. Preferably hold a Manager CPC National Road Haulage Certificate.
