Senior Procurement and Contracts Officer
Onsite once per month
As a procurement professional specialising in adult social care, you will be responsible for managing the procurement of goods and services essential to frontline services. You will work closely with client teams and suppliers, manage contracts, and maintain strong relationships to ensure high standards of care for service users.
The role
* Procure strategically critical contracts to ensure service continuation for vulnerable users
* Develop and implement procurement strategies tailored to adult social care needs
* Source and evaluate suppliers, draft and negotiate contracts, and manage supplier relationships
* Ensure timely delivery of high-quality care supplies and services
* Conduct market research to identify trends and cost-saving opportunities in social care
* Collaborate with other departments and partner organisations to understand procurement needs and support
* Ensure compliance with policies and regulations related to procurement and social care
About you
* Ability to work autonomously and meet role and council priorities
* Decision-making ability aligned with role requirements without needing senior approval
* Ability to manage multiple projects across diverse subjects
* Knowledge of Procurement Regulations, legislation, case law, and guidance, including Provider Selection Regime
* Understanding of contract clauses, formation, management, and compliance
* Experience in adults’ or children’s services procurement and contracting
* Experience with the Procurement Act and PSR regime is desirable
* Level 4 Diploma in Procurement and Supply or equivalent, or senior procurement experience
