About the Role
As an Imaging Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting Sonographers and Radiologists in delivering high-quality ultrasound services. You will assist with a wide range of examinations including:
 * General Abdominal
 * Gynaecological
 * Head and Neck
 * Musculoskeletal
 * Vascular
 * Neonatal Hip
You will also support medical procedures such as biopsies and musculoskeletal steroid injections, while ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for patients.
Key Responsibilities
 * Delivering compassionate and efficient patient care
 * Preparing patients and equipment for ultrasound procedures
 * Acting as a chaperone during intimate examinations
 * Supporting clerical and reception duties including booking appointments
 * Maintaining accurate records and data entry using departmental IT systems
 * Assisting with stock control and equipment maintenance
 * Promoting infection control and safety standards
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
 * GCSEs (A–C) including English
 * At least 6 months paid NHS experience in the last 3 years
 * Strong interpersonal and communication skills
 * Ability to work under pressure and manage priorities
 * Empathy and professionalism in patient care
Desirable:
 * NVQ or equivalent in Health Studies
 * Experience in a Radiology Department
 * Skills in phlebotomy, cannulation, or monitoring vital signs
